I think Kaitlyn and John's wedding is the closest I will ever get to photographing a royal wedding. I truly felt like I was transported into a fairy tale from the moment I arrived at Glen Echo Country Club on their wedding day. Kaitlyn's dress was fit for a princess and John, in his formal Navy attire, was her prince charming. It wasn't just the fact that these two beautiful souls look the part, though. Their love is something special, almost overwhelming to witness - the type of connection that makes you believe in soul mates.
These two adventurers had a travel themed wedding that featured all the locations they had been to together as a couple, and the wedding day itself was not without its own adventure. Together we explored St. Louis and managed to make time to shoot at an abandoned ivy-covered church, Forest Park, and with the iconic arch. Joining them in St. Louis, where John is from, was one of the highlights of my 2016 wedding season, which is why I held onto this wedding for so long, waiting for the perfect moment to share it. I am happy to say that moment is now, and I hope others can appreciate the magic of that perfect day.
