Lewiston Hotel Wedding in California
Annie and RD chose to host a wedding weekend in Lewiston, California because of Annie’s close ties to the area. She grew up going to her grandmother’s 1930’s cabin, and eventually brought RD there too, where it became special to the two of them as a couple. The dinner the night before the wedding was held right next to the cabin, and the wedding the following day was celebrated along the beautiful Trinity River behind the Lewiston Hotel. Annie and RD really wanted the weekend to extend beyond their wedding day so that they could enjoy time with family and friends. They opted for a less traditional “camping weekend” vibe that fit the two of them so well. The two also chose to hire as many friends as vendors as possible, which added a lovely familiar touch. Even I was not a stranger, as Annie and I had previously worked together at a camera shop in the New Orleans area many years ago. I would watch her sweet dog, Milou, when she would return to California for a visit. Unfortunately, Milou passed before the wedding, so Annie and RD chose to incorporate a handfasting into their wedding ceremony using Milou’s leash, so she could be there in spirit. Every detail of the wedding was chosen to be special and sentimental in some way, which created a beautiful and relaxed environment for the couple and guests.
Annie and RD are now building their own cabin on the family land.
