I had not met Kaitlyn or John prior to joining them at Naval Air Station Meridian for their engagement session, but they were one of those couples that I instantly felt comfortable around. When I asked how they met, they kept the story short and sweet, but it was one of those stories that made me believe that fate truly does exist - a tale of perfect timing and a love that can overcome any distance. They told me that they met in North Carolina, where she lived, while he was there for a weekend visit. He was from Missouri, but was stationed in Mississippi. She moved to Mississippi to be with him and the rest is history. I've heard many real love stories, but none had ever seemed so reminiscent of Nicolas Sparks' novels before theirs, which is why the retro and southern vibe they planned for their session was so very fitting. We ended the session in downtown Meridian, stopping by the train station on our way to The Brickhaus for some beer. I look forwarding to documenting their St. Louis wedding this fall. I am quite certain it will be a good time!
