From the moment I met Katie and Devon, I knew that I was going to have a great time working with them. Katie’s joy and love of life is absolutely infectious, and the way Devon loves her is every girl’s dream. These sweethearts originally met me out at Red Bluff for an adventurous engagement session (pictured above), where they danced and climbed and ran through streams together, excited to begin this new chapter of life.
On the morning of their wedding, I met Katie and all her bridesmaids at a gorgeous private residence in the Hattiesburg avenues. The girls enjoyed a leisurely morning of make-up, mimosas and even cuddling babies. From there they headed a few blocks over to Parkway Heights Methodist, where Katie had not one, but two heartfelt first looks - one with her father, and another with Devon. Following the beautiful faith-based ceremony, I stole Katie and Devon away for a bit and brought them to my favorite little secret spot in downtown Hattiesburg for some pictures of just the two of them. I always encourage couples to take the time to do this after their ceremony. Emotions are high, you are finally married, and there won’t be another chance for peace or privacy until after the reception!
The reception was absolutely stunning, in the newly re-done and glamorous Bottling Company. Their five-tiered cake sat near an impressive custom-made swing, and their food spread was a work of art. The dance floor stayed packed all night long, partially thanks to the amazing DJ’s selection. The night ended with a sparkler exit and a romantic drive off in a convertible. Katie and Devon’s wedding was as full of love and life as they are - both as individuals and as a couple.
