New Orleans Wedding at Compass Point Events
Courtney and Artie are not from New Orleans, but they fell in love with the city and it became a very special place for them. They even bought a house in New Orleans! The wedding, however, was very much a destination wedding for everyone that attended. The couple knew they wanted their day to really feature New Orleans, so they chose to have a beignet tower instead of a cake, and a second line (New Orleans musicians) play as they left the venue.
They chose to host their wedding at Compass Point Events across the river from the French Quarter. When asked about their venue choice Courtney said, “It was the very first place we looked at, and we couldn’t stop thinking about it for the rest of the week as we were visiting other potential venues. We knew we wanted to get married somewhere that had outdoor space, and we fell in love with the big, old oak trees throughout the property. One of the things we love most about NOLA is the architecture, and the property is surrounded by a collection of old Creole cottages that were transported from the levy before Hurricane Katrina. The property feels intimate and historic, and the lush greenery all around makes it extra romantic. We also loved the idea of our guests accessing Algiers Point via the ferry from Canal Street.”
